Sombi

Senegal

Sombi is Senegal's most beloved dessert and is made throughout West Africa under similar names. It is served at family gatherings, given to children as an after-school snack and eaten during Ramadan to break the fast.

Senegal's comforting coconut rice pudding — short grain rice slow-cooked in coconut milk and sugar until thick and creamy, perfumed with vanilla. A gentle, nourishing dessert beloved across Senegal.
