Bobotie

South Africa

Mentioned in a 1609 Cape Colony recipe. The Cape Malay community has made it for over 400 years.

South Africa's national dish — spiced minced beef with dried fruit and almonds, baked with a savoury egg custard topping. The Cape Malay kitchen's greatest gift.
