Among Ukraine's most beloved dishes. Every Ukrainian grandmother has her version.
Ukrainian stuffed cabbage rolls — cabbage leaves filled with rice and pork mince, braised in a tomato and sour cream sauce until tender.
Remove cabbage leaves by blanching the whole head in boiling water.
Mix mince with rice, onion, salt and pepper.
Place filling on each leaf. Roll tightly, tucking in the sides.
Arrange in a pot. Mix passata with sour cream. Pour over. Simmer covered 60 minutes.
Serve with more sour cream.
Blanch the cabbage thoroughly until leaves are fully pliable — stiff leaves crack when rolled.
