Held each autumn at Komazawa Olympic Park, Tokyo Ramen Festa has run since 2009 and grown into Japan's largest outdoor ramen event, launched specifically to help drive support for regional food culture across the country. Over roughly twelve days, split into three rotating phases with different vendors featured each time, the festival brings together around 40 carefully selected ramen shops representing every corner of the Japanese archipelago.

Visitors can compare shoyu, tonkotsu and shio broths side by side, from Hokkaido's hearty miso varieties to Kyushu's rich pork-bone tonkotsu, with each participating restaurant having earned its spot through genuine regional acclaim — many are award winners or local champions in their home prefectures. Entry to the park is free, though a ramen ticket, priced around 1,100 yen, is required for each bowl, and the most sought-after stalls, particularly recent Ramen Grand Prix winners, can draw queues of up to two hours.

For visitors unable to travel the length of Japan sampling regional ramen individually, Tokyo Ramen Festa offers a genuinely comprehensive shortcut — the country's noodle diversity concentrated into a single, autumn-scented park, with the aroma of simmering broths and caramelising char siu drifting through Komazawa's open-air setting.
