A celebration of Icheon's centuries-old reputation for growing Korea's finest rice, historically reserved for the royal court.
Icheon's rice has been celebrated in Korea for centuries, historically prized enough to be sent specifically to the royal court during the Joseon dynasty — a reputation the region still trades on today. This autumn festival celebrates the rice harvest with traditional farming demonstrations and, naturally, an enormous amount of rice-based food.
Rice cake making, traditional Korean meals built around Icheon rice, and cultural performances fill the festival grounds each October, coinciding with the region's harvest season.
