A craft beer festival at Prague's historic Holešovice Market, spotlighting independent Czech and international breweries.
Held each April at the Holešovice Market in Prague, Prague Beer Fest (PBFest) has established itself as one of the city's premier craft beer events, focused specifically on independent and innovative breweries rather than the country's larger commercial names. Around 50 breweries from the Czech Republic and beyond take part, pouring more than 150 types of draft beer, bottled specialities and an ever-expanding range of styles that go well beyond the traditional Czech lager.
Alongside the tastings, the festival runs workshops, lectures and sessions led by local and international brewers, giving genuine beer enthusiasts a chance to go deeper into the craft than a simple tasting event allows. Street food vendors line the historic market hall throughout, and the festival's cashless system, using a pre-loaded card, keeps the whole event running smoothly across its noon-to-midnight hours.
For a country as fundamentally shaped by beer as the Czech Republic, PBFest offers a genuinely modern counterpoint to its more traditional brewing heritage — a showcase for the smaller, more experimental breweries pushing Czech beer culture in new directions alongside its centuries-old Pilsner tradition.
