One of the world's largest food festivals of any kind, drawing hundreds of thousands to Naples' waterfront for six days dedicated entirely to pizza.
Each July, Naples' Lungomare waterfront transforms into a vast open-air celebration of the city's most famous export. Pizza Village brings together the city's most accomplished pizzaioli, from historic century-old pizzerias to ambitious newcomers, each working wood-fired ovens set up side by side along the seafront.
The scale is genuinely difficult to overstate — past editions have drawn crowds in the hundreds of thousands over the festival's run, making it one of the largest food-specific festivals anywhere in the world. Beyond the pizza itself, the week includes live music each evening, cooking demonstrations, and family activities, all set against the backdrop of the Bay of Naples.
For Neapolitans, the festival is also a matter of civic pride: Naples' Verace Pizza Napoletana tradition was inscribed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2017, and Pizza Village is where that heritage is celebrated most visibly, one wood-fired pie at a time.
