Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival
A celebration of Scotland's whisky heartland, with dozens of distilleries across Speyside opening their doors for tastings and tours each spring.
Speyside is home to more whisky distilleries than any other region in Scotland, producing roughly half the country's malt whisky, and each spring the Spirit of Speyside Whisky Festival throws open the doors of dozens of them at once. Distilleries that don't normally welcome visitors offer rare tastings, cask samples and tours, drawing whisky enthusiasts from around the world to a corner of the Scottish Highlands.
The festival programme runs well beyond whisky itself, with food events pairing local produce against Speyside malts, ceilidhs, and outdoor events that take in the region's genuinely striking scenery along the River Spey.
For serious whisky drinkers, the appeal is straightforward: access to distilleries and expressions that are otherwise very difficult to experience, in the one place on earth most closely associated with Scotch whisky production.
