Following the end of the once-legendary Mistura festival after 2017, Peru's food fair scene shifted to a new format under Perú Mucho Gusto, organised by PromPerú as the country's main showcase for gastronomic tourism. Rather than concentrating everything in one enormous Lima event, the fair now tours multiple Peruvian cities across the year, with Lima's edition closing out the national circuit each autumn.

The Lima fair brings together chefs, producers and regional specialities from across Peru's twelve distinct 'gastronomic worlds', from Limeño classics like causa and Limeño desserts to Nikkei-Peruvian fusion dishes born from Japanese immigration. Visitors can expect ceviche, anticuchos, causa limeña, rocoto relleno and traditional desserts like suspiro a la limeña and picarones, alongside pisco tastings and cocktail demonstrations.

While smaller in scale than Mistura's peak years, Perú Mucho Gusto's 2026 national circuit is projected to draw over 560,000 attendees across its editions, with an international leg in Madrid extending Peru's culinary diplomacy well beyond its own borders — a clear sign that Peru's ambitions as a global gastronomic destination haven't diminished, even as the format has changed.
