Ka'ak rings are a familiar sight in Jordan and the wider Levant, sold from carts each morning alongside za'atar and boiled eggs.
Sesame-crusted Jordanian bread rings, crisp outside and tender within, traditionally sold by street vendors and eaten with za'atar or boiled eggs.
Make a soft dough from flour, yeast, water and oil. Knead 10 minutes, then prove 1 hour.
Divide dough and shape each piece into a long rope, joining the ends into a ring.
Brush with water and press generously into sesame seeds.
Bake at 220C for 15-18 minutes until golden and crisp.
Pressing the dough firmly into the sesame seeds ensures they stay attached during baking rather than falling off.
