Peameal Bacon Sandwich

Canada

Named for the ground yellow peas once used to coat the bacon, this Toronto sandwich remains most famous at the century-old St. Lawrence Market.

A Toronto classic — thick-cut, cornmeal-crusted back bacon pan-fried and stacked into a soft bun, simple and satisfying, best known from St. Lawrence Market.
