Lahme bil Karaz

Syria

Lahme bil karaz is one of Aleppo's signature dishes, reflecting the city's tradition of combining meat with fruit. Aleppo, before the war, was considered one of the great food cities of the Arab world.

Syria's magnificent sour cherry meatballs — spiced lamb meatballs cooked in a sauce of tart sour cherries. Sweet, sour and deeply aromatic. One of Aleppo's greatest dishes.
